Whose stupid idea was this!!!! Also made even more stupid by cycling to and from the start.
Sometimes ideas should remain an idea 😂 anyway a group of us from Perth regularly ride the Sportive Kinross and the great idea of can we ride all 3 routes in one day came up.
Roll on yesterday 2.30 wake up do yoga, get breakfast and it was go time, a very challenging ride at the best of time but so early in the season too. The commute out was nice and dry but a mile or so away from kinross the dreaded rain started and remained for the full blue route, a quick stop for more food and liquids we rolled out on the black route the roads were wet but no more rain and the roads drying up and warming up too. A quick feed at the end in the campus and then on to the final red route not many mechanicals just the typical punctures you always get on these big days where every minute counts. Finally waving goodbye to the group as 3 of us cycled back to Perth and my gears decided they had had enough and I was stuck in the wee ring 🤦♂️ this is down to a user / charging error.
Honestly it was absolutely mental to try this but the achievement and the money raised for @supportchas has been amazing.
Cheers to the riders involved Derek, @rl_cyclist, Kevin, @adscrim, @colinmccreath, @johndukesmith, @g_larson, @mikeneave and Barry others to mention @subszero46 and @rory.mcguire who both came out and gave us a few pulls on the front letting us all chill save anything we could.
Huge thanks to the organisers @kinrosscyclingclub and volunteers for the Sportive Kinross allowing us to piggyback on the event for a bit of madness.
